Behind The Scenes
This film began with Chenglin’s love for his parents. Starting at the age of six, he pursued art with the endless love and support of his family, who stood by him through every step of his growth. While there were moments of conflict, reconciliation always followed. He believes many people around the world share similar feelings or can empathize with his experience, making this film not only for himself but for everyone.
When making the film, Chenglin chose to use the simplest strokes to allow the audience to focus on the characters, and a one-shot approach to tell the story of growth—because life itself unfolds in a continuous flow.

FATHER AND DAUGHTER premiered at the 60th San Francisco International Film Festival and earned Chenglin his second Gold Prize of the Cyber Sousa Award (Highly competitive with 30 awards sharing a total of $406,000).
